Good evening forum,

first of all thanks to the whole team working on Wings X for the great job you are doing.
And special thanks to Christoph Hilger for his great availability to stay here to listen to us and answer every day
including Sundays and the Christmas holidays.
My question is about the output generated by Wings X compared to what we had in previous versions.
Here I hear mainly users who exhibit their works live or have to manage an event with only one author.
I happen to manage an evening or be invited to an event in which there are several authors and therefore a certain number of exe files.
The exe file works with a player custom built by Wings programmers and provides us with a kind of standard to which
we must adapt with our work creation and projection equipment.
Fortunately, with Wings X for Mac we can abandon BootCamp and Parallels, but now we have the problem that a video file
is generated that can be viewed and then evaluated with a large number of players that often provide different results.
So in a group of authors there is the possibility that each one comes up with a file that in his opinion is fine
but when compared with others it presents itself with maybe different colors and saturation.
I ask if in Wings X for Mac only the video file is provided as output and if so, there may be a proprietary player
with the ability to manage presentation on a second monitor or projector.
Or you have evaluated that one of the existing players (VLC, QuickTime, Elmedia etc ..) could be a point of reference for
obtaining the best result from the created video file.

Thanks and best regards from the Dolomites,
Daniele

Hello Daniele,

thank you very much for your kind words! :-) It is planned to have a special Wings X player software for macOS and Windows, which will be able to play Wings X presentations. This is very similar to Wings 7, where we have a Wings Player für the Wings presentations. A Wings (X) presentation is basically very similar to an exe presentation, but without including the player, which will be installed separately. This concept is very flexible, because the player can be updated without creating a new presentation every time and therefore the presentations do not age (like an exe presentation from Windows 95 to be played on Windows 11...).
The Wings X presentations are planned to be cross platform compatible. So you can create a presentation on Windows and play it on macOS and vice versa. :-)

Best regards to the dolomites (my playground for many years as a climber)!

Hello Daniele,

I'm glad to hear that! Please be aware, that the Wings X Player will not be one of the first features to be implemented. So it will take a while after the official release until it will be available. But you can use the time to create great shows until then. ;-)

Have a nice evening!
