Hello forum,
I have a problem with the video generator.
When I choose “create video” from the menu Export, the dialog box appears; I press the button to insert the name and the window proposing the directory appears.
As soon as I try to browse the directory or even write the name directly, the program goes to freeze and I am not able to unlock it in any way.
I must then force to quit and restart the project.
I have tried with various formats and frame rates but the result is always the same: the program crash.

This happens on the 2013 Mac Pro with Mojave System and with all the projects I have created with Wings X.
If I start the Mac Pro with Catalina system installed on an external disk the problem does not occur.
I also tried in a Mac Book Pro 2017 with Mojave and the problem is the same.

So I think it's related to OS 10.14.6

At the moment I cannot update the system to a newer version because I still use 32-bit software.
There is a solution?
Thank you
Daniele

Hello Daniele,

in the system requirements of Wings X we have stated that at least macOS Big Sur (11) is required. We cannot guarantee a successful use on older systems.
Since you described very precisely where your problem occurs, I can take a look in the source code to see if I can find a cause for your problem. But I can't promise anything, because I have no possibility to test or debug on such an old macOS.

Best regards and have a nice weekend!

Hello Daniele,

meanwhile I changed something in Wings X concerning your problem with selection of the export filename and the new version should be available on Friday. I cannot test it, because I don't have a Mojave-Mac. But even if it still doesn't work with your system, you can completely omit the fileselect dialog by proceeding as follows:

- Open Finder
- Navigate to the desired export folder
- Create a new file with the desired filename (e.g. "Video.mp4") in the export folder. The file can have any or no content, since it is overwritten anyway.
- Open the export dialog
- Drag & drop the file from Finder onto the file entry in the export dialog. This will assign the filename/path of that file to the export process and the filename will be displayed in the export dialog for confirmation
- Start exporting your video

I am really curious, if that solves your problem.

Best regards from Wallern!

Thanks for the reply
I'll wait for Friday and eventually try this solution of yours.
Have a good evening

Good evening Christoph,
with the update 0.9.9 it did not bring any improvement in the export procedure and the problem remains the same.
But your "manual" procedure allows me to create the video correctly and for the moment that's okay.
Thank you again for taking the time and I wish you and the whole forum a happy Sunday.
